This patient education portal aims to provide orientation to Electronic Health Records (EHRs) for the learners to support the understanding of the concept and use of EHR systems. Since the material will cover the definition of EHRs, differences between traditional paper records and electronic records, benefit of EHRs, and be somewhat in depth of the system, the target audience will more likely be adults/patients looking to be more involved in their care than younger K-12 individuals. The target audience would presumably have experience visiting doctor’s offices, walk-in-clinics, and hospitals, so the audience would already has some familiarity with the use of the EHRs and the healthcare system. For those interested and more concerned about the healthcare system, and specifically EHRs, this education portal will provide the answer for how it functions and is maintained.
